# §16314. Hydrogen

- (a) **In general—** The [Secretary](/usc/42/15801.md?p=4) shall conduct a program of fundamental research and development in support of programs authorized under subchapter VIII.
- (b) **Methods—** The program shall include support for methods of generating hydrogen without the use of natural gas.
