# §1437bbb–2. Program allocation and covered housing assistance

- (a) **Program allocation—** In each fiscal year, the amount made available to each [participating jurisdiction](/usc/42/1437bbb–8.md?p=2) under the demonstration program under this subchapter shall be equal to the sum of the amounts of covered [housing assistance](/usc/42/13641.md?p=3) that would otherwise be made available under the provisions of this chapter to the public housing [agency](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) for the [jurisdiction](/usc/42/1437bbb–8.md?p=1).
- (b) **Covered housing assistance—** For purposes of this subchapter, the term “covered [housing assistance](/usc/42/13641.md?p=3)” means—
  - (1) operating assistance under [section 1437g of this title](/usc/42/1437g.md) (as in effect before the effective date under [section 503(a)](/usc/42/503.md?p=a) of the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998);
  - (2) [modernization](/usc/42/300s–3.md?p=9) assistance under [section 1437l](/usc/42/1437l.md) of this title (as in effect before the effective date under [section 503(a)](/usc/42/503.md?p=a) of the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998);
  - (3) assistance for the certificate and voucher programs under [section 1437f of this title](/usc/42/1437f.md) (as in effect before the effective date under [section 503(a)](/usc/42/503.md?p=a) of the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998);
  - (4) assistance from the Operating Fund under [section 1437g(e) of this title](/usc/42/1437g.md?p=e);
  - (5) assistance from the Capital Fund under [section 1437g(d) of this title](/usc/42/1437g.md?p=d); and
  - (6) tenant-based assistance under [section 1437f of this title](/usc/42/1437f.md) (as amended by the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998).
