# §12801. General authority


Among the alternative model programs that the [Secretary](/usc/42/12704.md?p=16) shall make available for use by [participating jurisdictions](/usc/42/12704.md?p=4) under the provisions of [section 12743 of this title](/usc/42/12743.md) shall be model programs specified in this part. The [Secretary](/usc/42/12704.md?p=16) shall keep these specified model programs under review and submit to Congress such recommendations for change as the [Secretary](/usc/42/12704.md?p=16) determines to be appropriate.
