# §12313. Federal agency consultations

- (a) **In general—** The [Commissioner](/usc/42/12302.md?p=1) shall consult and cooperate with the heads of all appropriate Federal [agencies](/usc/42/8262.md?p=1) or departments administering programs or services that are substantially related to the purposes of this chapter.
- (b) **Interagency agreements—** To the extent practicable, the [Commissioner](/usc/42/12302.md?p=1) shall facilitate cooperation through the entering into of interagency agreements.
