# §10901. Authority of Secretary to make grants


The [Secretary](/usc/42/10903.md?p=3) is authorized to make a grant for any fiscal year to any [State](/usc/42/10903.md?p=4) receiving a grant under title XX of the Social Security Act [[42 U.S.C. 1397](/usc/42/1397.md) et seq.] for such fiscal year to enable such [State](/usc/42/10903.md?p=4) to award scholarships to [eligible individuals](/usc/42/10903.md?p=1) within the [State](/usc/42/10903.md?p=4) who are candidates for the Child Development Associate credential.
