# §10223. Alternative means of financing


The [Secretary](/usc/42/10101.md?p=20) shall undertake a study with respect to alternative approaches to managing the [construction](/usc/42/300s–3.md?p=7) and operation of all civilian radioactive waste management facilities, including the feasibility of establishing a [private corporation](/usc/42/2297h.md?p=7) for such purposes. In conducting such study, the [Secretary](/usc/42/10101.md?p=20) shall consult with the [Director](/usc/42/11851.md?p=5) of the [Office](/usc/42/10101.md?p=17) of Management and Budget, the Chairman of the [Commission](/usc/42/10101.md?p=7), and such other [Federal agency](/usc/42/10101.md?p=13) representatives as may be appropriate. Such study shall be completed, and a report containing the results of such study shall be submitted to the Congress, within 1 year after January 7, 1983.
