# §3748. Preference for disabled veterans


In the extension of financial assistance under this subchapter, the [Secretary](/usc/38/4101.md?p=8) shall give preference, first, to [veterans](/usc/38/3701.md?p=b-2)’ small business concerns in which [disabled veterans](/usc/38/3741.md?p=1) who have successfully completed a [vocational rehabilitation program](/usc/38/3101.md?p=10) for self-employment in a small business enterprise under [chapter 31](/usc/38/chptIII/ch31.md) of this title have a significant ownership interest, and, second, to [veterans](/usc/38/3701.md?p=b-2)’ small business concerns in which other [disabled veterans](/usc/38/3741.md?p=1) have a significant ownership interest.
