# §3023. Payment of supplemental educational assistance under this subchapter


The [Secretary](/usc/38/4101.md?p=8) shall increase the monthly [basic educational assistance](/usc/38/3002.md?p=1) allowance paid to an individual who is entitled to [supplemental educational assistance](/usc/38/3002.md?p=2) under this subchapter by the monthly amount of the [supplemental educational assistance](/usc/38/3002.md?p=2) to which the individual is entitled.
