# §21302. Purposes


The purposes of the [corporation](/usc/36/220501.md?p=b-7) are—

- (1) to promote historical studies;
- (2) to collect and preserve historical manuscripts; and
- (3) other kindred purposes in the interest of American history and of history in America.
