# §151301. Organization

- (a) **Federal Charter.—** National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (in this chapter, the “[corporation](/usc/36/220501.md?p=b-7)”) is a federally chartered [corporation](/usc/36/220501.md?p=b-7).
- (b) **Nature of Corporation and Place of Incorporation.—** The [corporation](/usc/36/220501.md?p=b-7) is a charitable and nonprofit [corporation](/usc/36/220501.md?p=b-7) incorporated under the laws of Maryland and is not an agency or establishment of the United States Government.
- (c) **Perpetual Existence.—** Except as otherwise provided, the [corporation](/usc/36/220501.md?p=b-7) has perpetual existence.
