# §40315. Enforcement and implementation


All departments, agencies, officers, and employees of the United States shall enforce the [Compact](/usc/34/40312.md?p=2) and cooperate with one another and with all [Party States](/usc/34/40312.md?p=5) in enforcing the [Compact](/usc/34/40312.md?p=2) and effectuating its purposes. For the Federal Government, the [Attorney General](/usc/34/40312.md?p=1) shall make such rules, prescribe such instructions, and take such other actions as may be necessary to carry out the [Compact](/usc/34/40312.md?p=2) and this subchapter.
