# §12642. Coordination of substance abuse treatment and prevention programs


The [Attorney General](/usc/34/10307.md?p=1) shall consult with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human [Services](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-51) in establishing and carrying out the substance abuse [treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) and prevention components of the programs authorized under this Act, to assure coordination of programs, eliminate duplication of efforts and enhance the effectiveness of such [services](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-51).
