# §12575. Eligibility

- (a) **Scholarships—** A person shall be eligible to receive a scholarship under this part if the person has been employed in [law enforcement](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-23) for the 2-year period immediately preceding the date on which assistance is sought.
- (b) **Ineligibility for student employment—** A person who has been employed as a [law enforcement](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-23) officer is ineligible to participate in a student employment program carried out under this part.
