# §12406. Training programs for judges


The [State](/usc/34/11103.md?p=7) Justice Institute, after consultation with nationally recognized [nonprofit organizations](/usc/34/11103.md?p=23) with expertise in [stalking](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-36) and [domestic violence](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-12) cases, shall conduct training programs for [State](/usc/34/11103.md?p=7) (as defined in [section 10701](/usc/34/10701.md)[^1] of title 42) and [Indian](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-18) tribal judges to ensure that a judge issuing an order in a [stalking](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-36) or [domestic violence](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-12) case has all available criminal history and other information, whether from [State](/usc/34/11103.md?p=7) or Federal sources.
