# §11172. Grants for technical assistance


The [Administrator](/usc/34/11103.md?p=5) may make grants to and contracts with public and private agencies, organizations, and individuals to provide technical assistance to [States](/usc/34/11103.md?p=7), units of general local government, [Indian](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-18) [tribal governments](/usc/34/11103.md?p=45), local private entities or agencies, or any [combination](/usc/34/11103.md?p=9) thereof, to carry out the projects for which grants are made under [section 11171 of this title](/usc/34/11171.md).
