# §10651a. Veteran Treatment Court Program

- (a) **Establishment—** Subject to the availability of appropriations, in coordination with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, the [Attorney General](/usc/34/10307.md?p=1) shall establish and carry out a Veteran [Treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) Court Program to provide grants and technical assistance to court systems that—
  - (1) have adopted a Veterans [Treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) Court Program; or
  - (2) have filed a notice of intent to establish a Veterans [Treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) Court Program with the Secretary.
- (b) **Purpose—** The purpose of the Veterans [Treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) Court Program established under [subsection (a)](#a) is to ensure the Department of Justice has a single office to coordinate the provision of grants, training, and technical assistance to help [State](/usc/34/11103.md?p=7), local, and [Tribal governments](/usc/34/11103.md?p=45) to develop and maintain veteran [treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) [courts](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-7).
- (c) **Programs included—** The Veterans [Treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) Court Program established under [subsection (a)](#a) shall include the grant programs relating to veterans [treatment](/usc/34/11103.md?p=15) [courts](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-7) carried out by the [Attorney General](/usc/34/10307.md?p=1) pursuant to sections [10651](/usc/34/10651.md) and [10701](/usc/34/10701.md) of this title or any other provision of law.
- (d) **Regulations—** The [Attorney General](/usc/34/10307.md?p=1) shall promulgate regulations to carry out this section.
