# §10476. Geographic distribution


The [Attorney General](/usc/34/10307.md?p=1) shall ensure that, to the extent practicable, an equitable geographic distribution of grant awards is made that considers the special needs of [rural communities](/usc/34/12291.md?p=a-32), [Indian tribes](/usc/34/11103.md?p=18), and Alaska Natives.
