# §2504. Competitive grants

- (a) **In general—** Each [community-based organization](/usc/29/2508.md?p=1) that desires to receive a grant to provide technical assistance under [section 2503(a) of this title](/usc/29/2503.md?p=a) to employers and labor unions shall submit an application to the [Secretary](/usc/29/2508.md?p=3) at such time, in such manner, and accompanied by such information as the [Secretary](/usc/29/2508.md?p=3) may reasonably require.
- (b) **Priority—** In awarding grants under [section 2503(a) of this title](/usc/29/2503.md?p=a), the [Secretary](/usc/29/2508.md?p=3) shall give priority to applications from [community-based organizations](/usc/29/2508.md?p=1) that—
  - (1) demonstrate experience preparing women to gain employment in apprenticeable occupations or other [nontraditional occupations](/usc/29/2508.md?p=2);
  - (2) demonstrate experience working with the business community to prepare them to place women in apprenticeable occupations or other [nontraditional occupations](/usc/29/2508.md?p=2);
  - (3) have tradeswomen or women in [nontraditional occupations](/usc/29/2508.md?p=2) as active members of the organization, as either employed staff or board members; and
  - (4) have experience delivering technical assistance.
