# §2705. Powers of Chairman

- (a) The [Chairman](/usc/25/2703.md?p=2), on behalf of the [Commission](/usc/25/2703.md?p=3), shall have power, subject to an appeal to the [Commission](/usc/25/2703.md?p=3), to—
  - (1) issue orders of temporary closure of gaming activities as provided in [section 2713(b) of this title](/usc/25/2713.md?p=b);
  - (2) levy and collect civil fines as provided in [section 2713(a) of this title](/usc/25/2713.md?p=a);
  - (3) approve tribal ordinances or resolutions regulating [class II gaming](/usc/25/2703.md?p=7-A) and [class III gaming](/usc/25/2703.md?p=8) as provided in [section 2710 of this title](/usc/25/2710.md); and
  - (4) approve management contracts for [class II gaming](/usc/25/2703.md?p=7-A) and [class III gaming](/usc/25/2703.md?p=8) as provided in sections [2710(d)(9)](/usc/25/2710.md?p=d-9) and [2711](/usc/25/2711.md) of this title.
- (b) The [Chairman](/usc/25/2703.md?p=2) shall have such other powers as may be delegated by the [Commission](/usc/25/2703.md?p=3).
