# §8781. Implementation; penalties

- (a) **Implementation—** The President may exercise all authorities provided under sections [1702](/usc/50/1702.md) and [1704](/usc/50/1704.md) of title 50 to carry out—
  - (1) sections [8721](/usc/22/8721.md), [8722](/usc/22/8722.md), [8723](/usc/22/8723.md), [8724](/usc/22/8724.md), [8725](/usc/22/8725.md), [8726](/usc/22/8726.md) of this title, 312,[^1] and [8751](/usc/22/8751.md) of this title, subchapter III, and subchapter VII;
  - (2) [section 8513b of this title](/usc/22/8513b.md), as added by section 312;[^1] and
  - (3) sections [8514a](/usc/22/8514a.md) and [8514b](/usc/22/8514b.md) of this title, as added by subtitle A of title IV.
- (b) **Penalties—**
  - (1) **In general—** The penalties provided for in subsections (b) and (c) of [section 1705 of title 50](/usc/50/1705.md) shall apply to a person that violates, attempts to violate, conspires to violate, or causes a violation of a provision specified in paragraph (2) of this subsection, or an order or regulation prescribed under such a provision, to the same extent that such penalties apply to a person that commits an unlawful act described in [section 1705(a) of title 50](/usc/50/1705.md?p=a).
  - (2) **Provisions specified—** The provisions specified in this paragraph are the following:
    - (A) Sections [8721](/usc/22/8721.md), [8722](/usc/22/8722.md), [8723](/usc/22/8723.md), and [8726](/usc/22/8726.md) of this title, subchapter III, and subchapter VII.
    - (B) Sections [8514a](/usc/22/8514a.md) and [8514b](/usc/22/8514b.md) of this title, as added by subtitle A of title IV.
