# §7431. Nondelegation


The authorities vested in the President by sections [7422](/usc/22/7422.md) and [7430(a)](/usc/22/7430.md?p=a) of this title may not be delegated by the President pursuant to [section 301 of title 3](/usc/3/301.md) or any other provision of law. The authority vested in the President by [section 7424(c)(3) of this title](/usc/22/7424.md?p=c-3) may not be delegated by the President pursuant to [section 301 of title 3](/usc/3/301.md) or any other provision of law to any official other than the [Secretary](/usc/22/277d–43.md?p=5) of Defense, and if so delegated may not be subdelegated.
