# §6727. National security exception


Consistent with the objective of eliminating [chemical weapons](/usc/22/6701.md?p=1), the President may deny a request to inspect any facility in the [United States](/usc/22/6701.md?p=14) in cases where the President determines that the inspection may pose a threat to the national security interests of the [United States](/usc/22/6701.md?p=14).
