# §4058. Estimate of appropriations needed


The [Secretary](/usc/22/3902.md?p=10) of the Treasury shall prepare the estimates of the annual appropriations required to be made to the [Fund](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=2), and shall make actuarial valuations of the [System](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=10) at intervals of not more than five years. The Secretary of State may expend from money to the credit of the [Fund](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=2) an amount not exceeding $5,000 per year for the incidental expenses necessary in administering the provisions of this part, including actuarial advice.
