# §4042. Maintenance of Fund


The [Secretary](/usc/22/3902.md?p=10) of the Treasury shall maintain the special [fund](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=2) known as the Foreign Service Retirement and Disability [Fund](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=2) (hereinafter in this part referred to as the “[Fund](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=2)”), originally created by section 18 of the Act of May 24, 1924 (43 Stat. 144).
