# §3925. Compatibility between Foreign Service and other Government personnel systems


The Service shall be administered to the extent practicable in conformity with general policies and regulations of the [Government](/usc/22/3902.md?p=7). The [Secretary](/usc/22/3902.md?p=10) shall consult with the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and the heads of such other [agencies](/usc/22/3902.md?p=2) as the President shall determine, in order to assure compatibility of the Foreign Service personnel [system](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=10) with other [Government](/usc/22/3902.md?p=7) personnel [systems](/usc/22/4071a.md?p=10) to the extent practicable.
