# §2516. Use of foreign currencies


Whenever possible, expenditures incurred in carrying out [functions](/usc/22/2522.md?p=2) under this chapter shall be paid for in such currency of the country or area where the expense is incurred as may be available to the [United States](/usc/22/2522.md?p=6).
