# §9151. State advisory councils


Each [State](/usc/20/9122.md?p=3) desiring assistance under this subchapter may establish a [State](/usc/20/9122.md?p=3) advisory council which is broadly representative of the [library](/usc/20/9122.md?p=1) entities in the [State](/usc/20/9122.md?p=3), including public, tribal, school, academic, special, and institutional [libraries](/usc/20/9122.md?p=1), and [libraries](/usc/20/9122.md?p=1) serving people of diverse geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, individuals with disabilities, residents of rural and urban areas, Native Americans, military families, veterans, and caregivers.
