# §80c. Transfer or loan of objects, equipment and rec­ords to Smithsonian Institution


The heads of executive [departments](/usc/20/1221.md?p=c-3) and independent agencies of the Government are authorized to transfer or loan to the Smithsonian Institution for its use without charge therefor military, naval, aeronautical, and space objects, equipment and records for exhibition, historical, or other appropriate purposes.
