# §7928. Privacy


The [Secretary](/usc/20/7801.md?p=46) shall require an assurance that each grantee receiving funds under this chapter understands the importance of privacy protections for students and is aware of the responsibilities of the grantee under [section 1232g of this title](/usc/20/1232g.md) (commonly known as the “Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974”).
