# §7429. State educational agency review


Before submitting an application to the [Secretary](/usc/20/7801.md?p=46) under [section 7424 of this title](/usc/20/7424.md), a [local educational agency](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A) shall submit the application to the [State educational agency](/usc/20/7801.md?p=49), which may comment on such application. If the [State educational agency](/usc/20/7801.md?p=49) comments on the application, the agency shall comment on all applications submitted by [local educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A) in the [State](/usc/20/7171.md?p=b-6) and shall provide those comments to the respective [local educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A), with an opportunity to respond.
