# §7241. Purposes


The purposes of this part are the following:

- (1) To provide financial support to organizations to provide technical assistance and training to [State educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=49) and [local educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A) in the implementation and enhancement of systemic and effective family engagement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student development and academic achievement.
- (2) To assist [State educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=49), [local educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A), [community-based organizations](/usc/20/7801.md?p=5), schools, and educators in strengthening partnerships among [parents](/usc/20/7801.md?p=38), teachers, [school leaders](/usc/20/7801.md?p=44), administrators, and other school personnel in meeting the educational needs of children and fostering greater parental engagement.
- (3) To support [State educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=49), [local educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A), schools, educators, and [parents](/usc/20/7801.md?p=38) in developing and strengthening the relationship between [parents](/usc/20/7801.md?p=38) and their children’s school in order to further the developmental progress of children.
- (4) To coordinate activities funded under this part with [parent](/usc/20/7801.md?p=38) involvement initiatives funded under [section 6318 of this title](/usc/20/6318.md) and other provisions of this chapter.
- (5) To assist the [Secretary](/usc/20/7801.md?p=46), [State educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=49), and [local educational agencies](/usc/20/7801.md?p=30-A) in the coordination and integration of Federal, [State](/usc/20/7171.md?p=b-6), and local services and programs to engage families in education.
