# §3992. Programs authorized

- (a) **Grants—** The [Secretary](/usc/20/3902.md?p=9) may make grants to [States](/usc/20/3902.md?p=10) to pay the Federal share of the cost of the programs described in [section 3994 of this title](/usc/20/3994.md).
- (b) **Authorization of appropriations—** There are authorized to be appropriated for purposes of carrying out this part[^1] $20,000,000 for fiscal year 1988.
