# §3447. Effect of transfers


The transfer of a [function](/usc/20/3404.md?p=4) or [office](/usc/20/3404.md?p=7) from an officer or agency to the [Secretary](/usc/20/3404.md?p=2) or to the [Department](/usc/20/3404.md?p=1) includes any aspects of such [function](/usc/20/3404.md?p=4) or [office](/usc/20/3404.md?p=7) vested in a subordinate of such officer or in a component of such agency.
