# §1433. General authority


The [Secretary](/usc/20/1401.md?p=28) shall, in accordance with this subchapter, make grants to [States](/usc/20/1401.md?p=31) (from their allotments under [section 1443 of this title](/usc/20/1443.md)) to assist each [State](/usc/20/1401.md?p=31) to maintain and implement a statewide, comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary, interagency system to provide [early intervention services](/usc/20/1432.md?p=4) for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families.
