# §1409. Freely associated States


The Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated [States](/usc/20/1401.md?p=31) of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau shall continue to be eligible for competitive grants administered by the [Secretary](/usc/20/1401.md?p=28) under this chapter to the extent that such grants continue to be available to [States](/usc/20/1401.md?p=31) and [local educational agencies](/usc/20/1401.md?p=19-A) under this chapter.
