# §1094b. Assignment of identification numbers


The [Secretary](/usc/20/1003.md?p=17) shall assign to each participant in subchapter IV programs, including institutions, [lenders](/usc/20/1019.md?p=6), and [guaranty agencies](/usc/20/1085.md?p=j), a single [Department](/usc/20/1003.md?p=4) of Education identification number to be used to identify its participation in each of the subchapter IV programs.
