# §801. Establishment, etc., of Congressional Award Board


There is established a [board](/usc/2/179u.md?p=2) to be known as the Congressional Award [Board](/usc/2/179u.md?p=2) (hereinafter in this subchapter referred to as the “[Board](/usc/2/179u.md?p=2)”), which shall be responsible for administering the Congressional Award Program described under [section 802 of this title](/usc/2/802.md). The [Board](/usc/2/179u.md?p=2) shall not be an agency or instrumentality of the United States, and the United States is not liable for any obligation or liability incurred by the [Board](/usc/2/179u.md?p=2).
