# §608. Lump-sum payments to enhance staff recruitment and to reward exceptional performance

- (a) The Director of the Congressional Budget Office shall have the authority to make lump-sum payments to enhance staff recruitment and to reward exceptional performance by an [employee](/usc/2/4558.md?p=2) or a group of [employees](/usc/2/4558.md?p=2).
- (b) [Subsection (a)](#a) shall apply with respect to fiscal years beginning after September 30, 1999.
