# §1725. General powers of Board

- (a) **In general—** The [Board](/usc/2/1741.md?p=2) may, for the purpose of carrying out its duties, hold such hearings, sit and act at such times and places, take such testimony, and receive such evidence, as the [Librarian](/usc/2/1741.md?p=1) and the [Board](/usc/2/1741.md?p=2) consider appropriate.
- (b) **Service on Foundation—** Two sitting [members](/usc/2/4556.md?p=2) of the [Board](/usc/2/1741.md?p=2) shall be appointed by the [Librarian](/usc/2/1741.md?p=1) and shall serve as [members](/usc/2/4556.md?p=2) of the [board](/usc/2/1741.md?p=2) of directors of the National Recording Preservation Foundation, in accordance with [section 152403 of title 36](/usc/36/152403.md).
