# §3912. GAO report


Not later than 24 months after the effective date of this chapter, the Comptroller General of the [United States](/usc/19/3902.md?p=10) shall transmit a report to the Congress on the effectiveness of the provisions of this chapter in preventing the importation or exportation of [rough diamonds](/usc/19/3902.md?p=9) that is prohibited under [section 3903 of this title](/usc/19/3903.md). The Comptroller General shall include in the report any recommendations on any modifications to this chapter that may be necessary.
