# §2577. Definitions


Notwithstanding [section 2571 of this title](/usc/19/2571.md), for purposes of this part—

- (1) **NAFTA—** The term “NAFTA” means the North American Free Trade [Agreement](/usc/19/2518.md?p=1).
- (2) **State—** The term “State” means any of the several States, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
