# §4. Misprision of felony


[Whoever](/usc/18/921.md?p=a-1), having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the [United States](/usc/18/229F.md?p=9), conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other [person](/usc/18/229F.md?p=5) in civil or military authority under the [United States](/usc/18/229F.md?p=9), shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
