# §1901. Collecting or disbursing officer trading in public property


[Whoever](/usc/18/921.md?p=a-1), being an [officer](/usc/18/202.md?p=c) of the [United States](/usc/18/229F.md?p=9) concerned in the collection or the disbursement of the revenues thereof, carries on any trade or business in the funds or debts of the [United States](/usc/18/229F.md?p=9), or of any [State](/usc/18/31.md?p=a-9), or in any public property of either, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and shall be removed from office, and be incapable of holding any office under the [United States](/usc/18/229F.md?p=9).
