# §1517. Obstructing examination of financial institution


[Whoever](/usc/18/921.md?p=a-1) [corruptly](/usc/18/1515.md?p=b) obstructs or attempts to obstruct any examination of a financial institution by an agency of the [United States](/usc/18/229F.md?p=9) with jurisdiction to conduct an examination of such financial institution shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.
