# §7401. Purpose


The purpose of this chapter is to implement the [Agreement](/usc/16/7402.md?p=1) on Port [State](/usc/16/590q.md?p=a) Measures to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated [Fishing](/usc/16/7402.md?p=10).
