# §715g. Jurisdiction of State over areas acquired


The jurisdiction of the [State](/usc/16/718j.md?p=b-4), both civil and criminal, over [persons](/usc/16/450rr–1.md?p=b) upon [areas](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) acquired under this subchapter shall not be affected or changed by reason of their [acquisition](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1) and administration by the United States as migratory-bird reservations, except so far as the punishment of offenses against the United States is concerned.
