# §7144. Termination of authority

- (a) **In general—** The authority to initiate [projects](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-4) under this subchapter terminates on September 30, 2028.
- (b) **Availability—** Any [county funds](/usc/16/7141.md?p=1) not obligated by September 30, 2029, shall be returned to the Treasury of the United States.
