# §693. Game sanctuaries and refuges in Ouachita National Forest


For the purpose of providing breeding places and for the protection and administration of game animals, birds, and fish, the President of the United States is authorized, upon the recommendation of the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) of Agriculture, to establish by public proclamation certain specified [areas](/usc/16/539m–1.md?p=1-A) within the Ouachita National Forest as game sanctuaries and refuges.
