# §666d. Skagit National Wildlife Refuge; exchange of lands


The [Secretary](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=12) of the Interior is authorized, in his discretion, at any time within ten years from October 6, 1949, to accept from the [State](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) of Washington on behalf of the [United States](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) title to any lands in the [State](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) of Washington which he deems chiefly valuable for [wildlife](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=7) [refuge](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=11) purposes, and which are equivalent in value to the lands of the [United States](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) within the Skagit National [Wildlife](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=7) [Refuge](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=11), and in exchange therefor to convey by deed on behalf of the [United States](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) to the [State](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) of Washington the said lands of the [United States](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=13) in the Skagit National [Wildlife](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=7) [Refuge](/usc/16/668ee.md?p=11).
