# §590q–2. Voluntary relinquishment of allotments


Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) may provide for the reduction or cancellation of any allotment or base when the [owner](/usc/16/429b–3.md?p=4) of the farm [states](/usc/16/544.md?p=r) in writing that he has no further use of such allotment or base.
